Imagine one of Silicon Valley's most liberal voices suddenly declaring their support for President Trump. That’s exactly what Marc Benioff, the billionaire founder of Salesforce, just did in a jaw-dropping interview with the New York Times.

For years, Benioff was synonymous with philanthropy in San Francisco, using his wealth to fund homeless services and public schools while championing liberal causes. But during a candid 50-minute conversation from his private plane, he revealed a surprising political transformation that left even his communications team stunned.

“I fully support President Trump,” he stated, astonishingly advocating for National Guard troops to patrol the streets of San Francisco. He recounted attending a state dinner at Windsor Castle where he expressed his gratitude to Trump for his efforts, which he lauded as effective.

In a twist that many would find hard to digest, Benioff also praised Tesla CEO Elon Musk for his government efficiency initiatives, all while seemingly ignoring the controversies surrounding Trump's immigration policies and media critiques. It was as if he was living in a bubble, disconnected from the broader implications of these policies on society.

As the interview progressed, Benioff's public relations executive's reaction hinted at the tension brewing beneath the surface. “What about the political questions?” he asked her, clearly sensing the charged atmosphere. “Too spicy?”

This unexpected pivot from a tech mogul known for his progressive stance reflects a larger trend in Silicon Valley, where some are accommodating Trump's influence. The big question now is whether other tech leaders in the Bay Area will follow in Benioff's footsteps, potentially calling for federal intervention in their cities.
