In an astonishing turn of events, an Adelaide woman named Shraddha experienced an unexpected surprise while enjoying her takeaway dinner. Recently, she ordered a hotpot meal from a local takeaway establishment, planning to savor the delicious dish over two meals. After consuming about half of her hotpot, Shraddha intended to save the remainder for lunch the following day. However, she found herself nibbling on it a bit more, which led to a curious discovery.

While picking at the bottom of the container, Shraddha noticed something unusual. 'I was picking at the bottom and the container was feeling a little bit weird,' she recounted. Intrigued, she continued to dig around, and to her astonishment, she uncovered a working mobile phone buried at the bottom of her hotpot. 'I touched the screen and saw it was still on,' she said, expressing her disbelief at the bizarre find.

Immediately, Shraddha contacted the takeaway shop to report her unusual discovery. 'I rang the place and I was like "hey, I found a phone in my hotpot,"' she explained. The staff at the restaurant were quick to respond, confirming that they had indeed lost a phone belonging to one of their chefs. They sincerely apologized for the mix-up and expressed gratitude for her honesty, stating, 'Oh yeah, we did have a phone missing.'

According to the explanation provided by the restaurant, the phone had been inadvertently placed in the takeaway container by the chef. Its dark color blended seamlessly with the container, making it nearly impossible to notice. Initially, Shraddha had paid $35 for her hotpot meal, but in light of the unusual situation, the restaurant offered her a refund of $50. Additionally, the chef promised her a complimentary hotpot the next time she visited, as an expression of goodwill.

Despite the incident, Shraddha chose not to disclose the name of the fast-food establishment, stating, 'They're a very well-established business, and I don't want to bring them down over a single mistake.' Her discretion and willingness to let the matter slide were acknowledged and praised by many online.

Fortunately, Shraddha lived in close proximity to the restaurant, allowing her to avoid the need to reheat her meal upon returning home. It's worth noting that putting a mobile phone in a microwave can be extremely dangerous, potentially causing fires, damaging both the device and the microwave itself, and even releasing harmful vapors.

The incident garnered attention on social media, where Australians praised Shraddha for her understanding attitude towards the restaurant. 'Dinner with a side of phone,' one user humorously remarked. Others commended her for not escalating the situation, with one comment reading, 'It's really sweet of you to not make a bigger deal, but glad that in the end, everything worked out and you will get free hotpot.'
