The Indian Air Force (IAF) executed a significant military operation called Operation Sindoor on May 7, targeting nine specific locations in Pakistan. This operation was carried out after thorough deliberations among senior military officials, who confirmed that the strikes resulted in the deaths of over 100 terrorists. In a press briefing held in Delhi, high-ranking military officers provided insights into the operation and its objectives.

During the briefing, key figures such as Lieutenant General Rajiv Ghai, Air Marshal Awadhesh Kumar Bharti, Vice Admiral AN Pramod, and Major General Sandeep S Sharda elaborated on the meticulous planning that went into the operation. They emphasized that the primary aim of India's military action was to eliminate terrorist threats while minimizing collateral damage to civilians and infrastructure.

On the night of the operation, Pakistan initiated an aggressive response by deploying a swarm of drones aimed at various installations. However, India's air defense systems effectively intercepted most of these drones, preventing any significant damage to Indian assets. In a counteroffensive, the IAF succeeded in destroying a radar installation located in Lahore, Pakistan, demonstrating their capability to strike back decisively.

Lieutenant General Rajiv Ghai highlighted the effectiveness of Indian forces along the Line of Control, stating that Pakistan suffered losses of approximately 35 to 40 personnel due to retaliatory fire. This statistic underscores the intensity of the ongoing conflict and the Indian military's commitment to defending its territory and interests.

Air Marshal Awadhesh Kumar Bharti elaborated on the challenges posed by the Pakistani drone strikes, asserting that all such attempts to target IAF installations were thwarted successfully. He reiterated that there was no damage inflicted on Indian positions as a result of these assaults.

Furthermore, Bharti explained the strategic approach behind the decision to conduct the strikes. “A decision was then taken to strike where it will hurt,” he stated. The coordinated and calibrated attacks were aimed at air bases, command centers, and critical infrastructure across the entire western front, sending a resolute message that India would not tolerate aggression from its neighbor.
