Met Eireann has warned that rain, which will be heavy at times, will beat down over the capital today and tomorrow, which could to localised flooding.
And the weather warning, which is also in place for Carlow, Kilkenny, Louth, Wexford, Wicklow and Waterford, will not expire until 6am tomorrow morning.
Looking towards conditions today, Met Eireann said: "It will be cloudy, wet and breezy today with further outbreaks of rain.
"The rain will be moderate and possibly heavy at times which may lead to localised flooding. Highs of 9C or 10C with moderate to fresh easterly winds."
The forecast shows the weather tonight continuing wet with showery rain persisting overnight, turning heavy at times as temperatures reach their lowest between 8C and 9C.
And Dublin can expect a dull and damp start to the day tomorrow as the rain continues.
Met Eireann said the rain will become lighter and patchier through the morning and drier conditions will develop through the day, although it will remain quite cloudy with the chance of isolated showers.
Temperatures will peak between 10C and 11C in light to moderate easterly winds.
Saturday night will be "mostly dry" , according to Met Eireann.

But the weather boffins warned that light outbreaks of rain and drizzle in the west will slowly clear eastwards as temperatures hit lows of 6C to 9C.
And looking towards the rest of the week, the forecast pinpoint some small intervals of sunshine and dry conditions.
Met Eireann said: "Our weather will continue generally unsettled but with a slight improvement through the rest of the Easter weekend with some brighter and drier weather at times."
There is some uncertainty in the forecast for Easter Sunday.
WARNINGS FOR 12 COUNTIES DUBLIN isn't the only county that has been slapped with a weather warning. Met Eireann has issued three separate alerts ahead of a deluge of rain, warning of heavy rain beating down and possible flooding. Carlow, Dublin, Kilkenny, Louth, Wexford, Wicklow and Waterford have been under a warning since 6am this morning and will remain under the alert until 6am tomorrow. Cork and Kerry, which have been under the alert since 11pm last night, will see Met Eireann lift the yellow warning at 9pm tonight. Met Eireann's alert for Clare, Galway and Mayo started at 6am this morning and will remain in place until 9pm tonight.
But Met Eireann said current indications suggest outbreaks of light rain will clear eastwards in the morning followed by occasional sunny spells and some well scattered showers.
Dublin may see some blue skies as cloudy conditions look set to build from the west in the afternoon with rain following.
And temperatures will peak between 11C and 15C.
Rain will move eastwards and towards Dublin on Sunday night, followed by showers and clear spells.
Met Eireann said temperatures will be at their lowest between 5C and 9C.
On Monday, rain will clear from the northeast in the morning and will be followed by sunny spells and showers as temperatures peak between 11C and 14C.
And on Monday night, Met Eireann said it will become "largely dry" as showers become mainly confined to Atlantic coasts.
Temperatures will drop to their lowest between 4C and 7C.
The forecasters said people can expect a mix of sunshine and showers on Tuesday as temperatures peak between 11C and 13C.
But Dublin may be one of the final counties to see this as it spreads from the Atlantic.
