Imagine watching a thrilling WNBA game, only to have a random object—yes, a sex toy—come flying from the stands! That shocking moment unfolded during the Fever-Sparks matchup in Los Angeles this Tuesday night, drawing gasps from the crowd and sparking outrage from players and coaches alike.

The incident occurred when a vibrant object landed near the feet of Fever guard Sophie Cunningham at the Crypto.com Arena, halting the game momentarily. Sparks guard Kelsey Plum, quick on her feet, promptly kicked it off the court, allowing play to resume without further interruption.

After the game, Sparks coach Lynne Roberts didn't hold back her frustration, condemning the act as not only immature but potentially dangerous. “I think it’s ridiculous. It’s dumb. It's stupid,” she expressed to reporters, emphasizing that player safety is paramount and that disrespecting the game undermines its integrity.

Amidst the chaos, Kelsey Plum praised both teams and the referees for their professionalism, stating, “I thought we did a great job, Indiana included, just playing on like, don't give it any attention. And the refs, I really appreciate them too. It’s just like, 'Hey, let’s go on with the game.'”

This incident is just one in a bizarre string of similar pranks. It all began last week when a fan launched a bright green object onto the court during the Golden State Valkyries versus Atlanta Dream game in College Park, Georgia. The very next game, during a clash with the Chicago Sky at Wintrust Arena, another object found its way onto the floor. It makes you wonder—what is it about sports events that seem to invite such outrageous behavior?

While sports are meant to be entertaining, these incidents cast a shadow over the excitement. Tossing objects at players is not only immature—it’s a violation of respect for the game and its athletes.
