Imagine being a teenager, enjoying a regular day, when suddenly you find yourself bleeding and in desperate need of help. This is the harrowing reality for a 15-year-old boy who ran into an Indian restaurant in Liverpool, frantic and asking for napkins after being slashed in a shocking daylight attack.

On August 13th, at approximately 4:20 PM, Merseyside Police responded to emergency reports near the junction of Duke Street and Colquitt Street, where a boy had been assaulted with a bladed weapon. Eyewitness accounts describe a scene that no one can ever forget—a young boy, clearly in distress, bursting through the doors of the Indian Tiffin Room, blood streaming from his ear.

The urgency of the situation is palpable. As emergency services arrived, the boy was promptly taken to the hospital with a minor head laceration, thankfully reported to be in stable condition. However, the fear didn’t end there. Witnesses reported the suspect, a teenager himself, aged around 17 or 18, fleeing the scene on an electric pedal bike, leaving behind a trail of blood that horrified onlookers.

As our team arrived to gather information, we noted the eerie sight of blood-stained steps outside the restaurant and a bike abandoned nearby, a haunting reminder of the chaos that had just unfolded. One brave restaurant staff member described the moment the victim ran in, calling for napkins amidst his distress. “He was bleeding really badly,” the staffer recalled. “We just gave him the napkins, and several people passing by called for an ambulance.”

Following the incident, a cordon was established around the area, with police officers conducting thorough inquiries. Chief Inspector Phil Thompson condemned the attack, remarking, “This was a shocking incident and an investigation is ongoing to find the person responsible.” He urged the public to come forward with any information that could assist in bringing the assailant to justice, emphasizing the reckless nature of using bladed weapons.

Despite the fear, the Indian Tiffin Room remained open, showcasing the resilience of the community. The police reassured locals and visitors alike that patrols would be increased to ensure their safety.

In a city where such violence should not occur, this incident serves as a stark reminder of the dangers that can lurk in seemingly normal moments. For those with knowledge about the attack, Merseyside Police encourages contact via their social media or directly through their website.
